Last night I was able to go to the GU vs Santa Clara game. I entered the sold-out arena of 6,000 fans with a little bit of fear and nerves. My team just had not been playing the way that I KNEW they could play. They had been messy and inconsistent. Missing rebounds, free throws and getting into massive foul trouble. After waiting in line for tickets, the last thing that I wanted was to be disappointed.
I wasn't.... and watching the Zags take Santa Clara to a 95-53 victory was a sweet reward for waking up at 3:30 to get tickets last Monday. I was on my feet throughout the game watching beautiful dunks and plays. My personal favorite? When the GU fans started clapping for the Santa Clara team when they made a basket towards the end of the game. (Talk about good sportsmanship....)
They outplayed Santa Clara at every point of play.... all I can say is the ZAGS showed up hungry and they were after a win.
And a win they got.
