So let's see what is the new news from Spokane and the Barn? First and foremost I am still knitting in fact I am knitting a blanket. Why? Just for a new challenge. I keep telling myself that a blanket is just a large scarf. I found a pattern on a knitting website to which I belong to (yes, I am a knitting nerd) and I thought I would give it a shot. I will have to take photos and let you know how it all goes. So far, so good. I figure it will be done by the time a friend of mine has their first child. (Note: At this time, none of my friends are expecting.... so I have at least a year to finish this thing out!)
The basketball season is coming to a close, at least for home games it is. Tomorrow marks the last game of the season at GU and of course I have tickets. The game should (note the word should) be a cake walk, but Senior Night is always my personal favorite of the season. Then the team is off to Vegas for the WCC tournament. Now, I have to let you know I have received much criticism for not attending the tournament in Vegas. To set the record straight, I have way to much fun in cities without 24 hour Chapels, Casinos and Buffets. If I went to Vegas I would return to Spokane married, broke and 10 lbs heavier.
The snow is finally melting here in Spokane which allows me to wear my beloved shoes without fear of snow or muck all over them. I have not resorted to feeding animals in my high heels however as it is still slightly unpractical. Trust me....
February has been full of trips and visitors as well for me. I headed to Seattle for Caroline's birthday as a surprise President's Day weekend and we were all able to see the Lion King as a family. (For anyone in Seattle....the show was AMAZING. It is still running. Go and see it.... You will be happy that you did.)
The week following, Ray came to visit me for the basketball game on Feb. 21st against Pepperdine. We had a great time including watching Slumdog Millionare. (I went to see it before it won best picture. What a psychic, right?) If you have not seen it yet...go and do it this week. Alone or as a date, it is a fantastic movie. One of the best I have ever seen. (And I have seen quite a few movies...)
Another development is I am participating in Gonzaga's Relay for Life April 3-4 and would love friends and family to consider supporting this great cause. Each of us, directly or indirectly, has been impacted by cancer in our lives.

This walk will allow me to celebrate the lives of those individuals who are survivors and how blessed I am to have them still in my life. This walk will also allow me to remember and honor those who have lost their lives to cancer, especially my grandmother who passed away when I was only 2 years old.
I know that times are tough, but $10 is better than nothing. Consider giving up your lattes for one week and donate to an excellent cause.
